About mOlly
Molly Goehring Burke is a multi-disciplinary artist, curator, and designer.. After graduating with a degree in Letters, Arts, and Sciences from Penn State Harrisburg, she began her art practice in the Harrisburg area. She has exhibited locally in the Harrisburg area, and internationally as part of Lacuna Festivals. She has been voted Harrisburg Magazine's Best Mixed Media Artist in 2022 and is one of the founding members of Japansylvania, a virtual exhibition of artists from around the globe. In the Spring of 2024, Molly moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she has been featured in the New Mexico Painter’s Exhibition in Las Vegas, NM, and has taught classes for both children and adults at the Harwood Art Center. As of Fall, 2024, she has been awarded the Albuquerque Arts Hub Fellowship.
Molly’s work explores a multitude of themes, primarily focused on her personal experiences. Her journey with mental illness as well as chronic illness are commonly woven throughout her compositions, as well as her Catholic upbringing. Bold, saturated colors are a staple in her creations, whether they come in the form of recycled fabrics, splashes of acrylic paint, or bold scribbles of oil pastel. Her exploration of the figure mixes with her love of linework and abstraction, creating dynamic pieces which entertain the intuitive while staying grounded in the representational.
